TERMS
TERMS OF USE.
These terms explain how this website and the One Finger for Earth movement may be used and shared. The central idea remains simple: never at someone. Always for something.
Last updated: 13 September 2026
1. About these terms
These terms apply when you use this website, access One Finger for Earth materials or take part in the movement. By using the site, you agree to use it lawfully and in a way that respects the purpose of the movement.
2. The core rule
One Finger for Earth transforms a familiar negative gesture into a positive symbol. The gesture must not be aimed at a person, group, company, government or opponent. The intended use is positive and non-targeted: never at someone. Always for something.
3. Participation
Participation is voluntary. You are responsible for the way you use the gesture, the places where you use it and any content you publish. Do not use the movement to harass, threaten, insult or intimidate another person, or in a way that is unlawful or unsafe.
4. Name, logo and brand assets
The name One Finger for Earth, its logos, symbol and visual materials may be protected by intellectual-property rights. You may share official movement materials in good faith and in line with the guidance on the Brand Assets page. Do not alter the meaning of the symbol, present yourself as the movement’s official representative without permission, or use the brand to imply an endorsement that has not been given.
5. Raise Yours submissions
The Raise Yours system lets you submit a link to a public social-media post together with your reason and participation details. Every submission is reviewed. Sending a submission does not guarantee publication and nothing is published automatically.
When you submit, you confirm that you created the post or otherwise have the right to submit it and that the people shown have agreed to the stated use. The current public submission form is intended for people aged 18 or older and asks you to confirm that the submission does not feature a minor as the subject of the post.
By selecting the required website-feature permission, you give One Finger for Earth permission to feature the submitted public post by linking to it and to publish the reason, display name or social handle and optional country you supplied. You keep ownership of your original content.
If you separately select the optional repost permission, you also give One Finger for Earth permission to repost the submitted content on its official social channels, with credit where appropriate. This additional permission is optional.
You may ask us to remove an OFE website feature or stop future use of content we control by contacting us. Removing an OFE feature does not remove the original post from the social platform where you published it.
6. Moderation
We may approve, reject, feature, unfeature or remove a submission in order to protect the meaning and safety of the movement, address rights or consent concerns, remove unavailable links, respond to withdrawal requests or keep the gallery relevant. Approval does not mean that One Finger for Earth endorses every statement, account or other piece of content associated with the submitter.
7. Website content
We aim to keep the information on this website useful and accurate, but the site is an evolving movement platform. Content may be updated, corrected, moved or removed. Nothing on the site should be treated as professional legal, medical, financial or technical advice.
8. External links and services
The website may link to third-party platforms, social networks or services. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content, availability, terms or privacy practices. A social post can become unavailable if its creator deletes it, changes account visibility or if the platform changes or removes it.
9. Availability and responsibility
We cannot guarantee uninterrupted access to the site or that every feature will always be available. To the extent permitted by applicable law, use of the website and voluntary participation in the movement are at your own responsibility.
10. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated as the movement, website and participation tools develop. The date at the top of this page shows the latest published version.
11. Questions
For questions about these terms, a submission, brand use or participation, use the routes on the Contact page.
